Julie DeMarchi
Fierté Canada Pride President
Timmins, Ontario
Julie Nobert DeMarchi (she/her/elle) is originally from Hull, Quebec but has grown up in Timmins, Ontario in Treaty 9 Territory. She is a partner, a mother of 3 and a grandmother of 4 and a foster parent to many youths as well as a parent to many pups over the years.
She has over 25 year’s experience in non-profit management both in publicly funded and government-funded agencies and is currently the Executive Director of a violence against women agency. She is passionate about giving back and helping to make a difference. Volunteering makes her heart full; from youth and adult sports, cadet corps, health coalitions, festivals and events, fundraisers, advocacy work, political committees, local and national pride committees and local provincial and national women’s organizations.
One of her guiding principles is shared in the following quote “Always be kind. If you see someone falling behind, walk beside them. If you see someone being ignored, find a way to include them. If someone has been knocked down, lift them up. Always remind people of their worth. Be who you needed when you were going through hard times. One small act could mean the world to them. – author unknown”
