Our Pride events offer a unique opportunity to harness community power. The spokes of our community - our people, our allies, our 2SLGBTQIA+ serving and affirming organizations - all touch on the hub that is Pride once a year. When we're able to harness that power and keep that community connection throughout the year, we can build a robust volunteer base that not only stays engaged 365 days a year, but builds power for social justice.
This short presentation and roundtable discussion will cover the Pride movement's role within the broader intersectional social justice movement (the "why" of staying engaged throughout the year) and examples of how Pride organizations can build scalable models of year-round engagement (the "how"). Attendees will leave with resources and strategies to build community-led and justice-centered programming, events, and messaging that works for your home Pride.
